The main sources of income were agriculture, some fruit growing, as well as spinning, weaving and pottery. The Catholic parish was Kamenitschek , the Protestants were parish in Swratauch . Jenikau was always subject to the allodial rule of Richenburg until the middle of the 19th century .
After the abolition of patrimonial formed Jeníkov / Jenikau a municipality in the judicial district Hlinsko . From 1868 the municipality belonged to the political district of Chrudim . At the end of the 19th century, almost 550 people lived in the approx. 100 houses of Jeníkov. In 1949 the community was assigned to the newly created Okres Hlinsko; in the course of the municipal reform of 1960 she came back to Okres Chrudim .
