Julio Jiménez Muñoz (born October 22, 1934 in Ávila ) is a former Spanish cyclist .

Jiménez discovered his passion for cycling at a young age. So he broke off his apprenticeship to devote himself to "his" sport.

Jiménez, like his compatriot Federico Bahamontes, was a pure climber a few years earlier. Although he never won a big tour, he is still considered one of the best Spanish professional cyclists of all time.

He won the coveted mountain prize of the Tour de France in 1965, 1966 and 1967. There are also three mountain prizes from the Vuelta a España (1963, 1964, 1965). At the Tour de France 1967 Jiménez was able to achieve second place in the overall classification.
