^ Bavarian Ice Hockey League

The Bavarian Regional League is organized by the Bavarian Ice Sports Association (BEV) and is currently the fifth highest division in the German league system . Before the introduction of the ice hockey Bundesliga , it was the second highest division and then third class until 1961. The Bavarian regional league served as the foundation of the regional league until it was replaced by the Bavarian regional league in 1991 .

Season 2020/21

The four semi-finalists of the previous season have received the promotion right for the Bayern league season 2020/21 from the BEV and want to exercise it. The TSV Farchant will go in the coming season in the county league at the start. There will be no relegation from the Bayern League. Wanderers Germering, SG TSV Schliersee / Miesbach 1b and ERC Lechbruck (all promoted from the district league) are new to the league.

Season 2019/20

As in the previous year, the 2019/20 national league season will be played in two preliminary round groups, Group 1 (North / East) and Group 2 (South / West), each with 11 teams. The EC Pfaffenhofen ( Bayern league promoter ) is no longer there . EHC Bayreuth 1b (promoted from the district league) and EV Pegnitz (relegated from the Bayern league) are new to the league . Due to the waiver of the district league champions EV Mittenwald , the athletic relegated EV Bad Wörishofen could remain in the state league.

mode

The main round 2019/20 will be played in two groups of 11 teams each. The best four teams then qualify for the promotion round. The game is played in a single round. The promotion is then determined in playoff mode (best-of-three) between the best four teams in the promotion round. The winners of the semi-finals are qualified for the Bayernliga 2020/21 and then also determine the Bavarian regional league champion in “best-of-three” mode. The teams from 5th place in each preliminary group take part in the relegation round in two groups. Source: Icehockeypage Current table: bev-eissport.de

Main round

The games were played from October 11, 2019 to January 5, 2020 (single round).

Other national leagues

The women's national league Bavaria is the second highest division in women's ice hockey under the women's ice hockey Bundesliga .

In all junior classes there are regional leagues in several groups, each of which forms the second highest league in Bavaria under the Bayernliga.

Mode (historical)

1948 to 2019
2018/19 The preliminary round 2018/19 was played in two groups as a single round. Then the best five teams in each group were dovetailed with the teams from 9th to 14th place in the Bayernliga and took part in a qualification round ( groups B and C ) for the BYL. Places 1 to 3 of each group were qualified for the 2019/20 Bayern league season. The top-ranked national league teams of the two groups determined the Bavarian national league champion in the "best-of-three" mode. The teams from 6th place in each preliminary group took part in the relegation round in two groups, in which the last two of groups 1 (N / O) and 2 (S / W) in play-down mode best-of-3 the relegated in played the district league.
2017/18 The preliminary round 2017/18 was played in two groups as a single round. Group 1 (North / East) with 12 teams and Group 2 (South / West) with 11 teams. The best five teams in each group were then dovetailed with the teams from 9th to 14th place in the Bayernliga and took part in a qualification round for the BYL. The teams from 6th place in each preliminary group took part in the relegation round. After the relegation round, which was also played out in 2 groups as a single round, the last placed team in each group was the sporty direct relegated to the district league. Source: bev-eissport.de
2016/17 In the 2016/17 season, the state league was played in three preliminary round groups - in contrast to the 2015/16 season, this time with eight teams each due to various circumstances - as a single round. After the preliminary round, the first four teams of all groups qualified for the intermediate round, while the teams in 5th to 8th place of all groups took part in the relegation round.

In the intermediate round, which was played in two groups of 6 teams each as a single round, the 8 participants in the playoffs are determined in a single round. In the playoffs, the champions of the regional league and direct climbers into the Bayern league were determined in the "Best of Three" mode . The runner-up qualifies for the relegation against the participant determined in the Bayernliga relegation round. After the relegation round, which, like the intermediate round, was played as a single round in two groups of 6 teams each, the teams in the first two places were athletically qualified for the 2017/18 regional league, while the teams in the third to sixth place in the play-downs participated. In the playdowns, which were played according to the "Best of Three" mode, the two athletic relegated players to the district league were determined in two rounds .

Only the number of players according to the valid IIHF rule could be used for the extension. In contrast to the playoffs, which are conducted according to the 3-man referee system, the playdowns are conducted according to the 2-man referee system.

2015/16 In this 2015/16 season, the regional league was played for the first time in the preliminary round in three groups of 9 or 10 teams as a single round. After the preliminary round, the first four teams of all groups qualified for the intermediate round, which was played in 2 groups of 6 teams each, while the teams on the other places played off the relegated athletes in the district league in another - joint - final round . In the intermediate round, which was played out as a single round, the eight participants in the playoffs were determined, in which the champions of the regional league and direct climbers in the Bayernliga and the runner-up and participants in the relegation to the Bayernliga were determined according to the "Best of Three" mode .

As of the playoff games, in contrast to the 2014/15 season, the games were governed by the 3-man referee system.

2014/15 This season the league was played in two preliminary round groups for the last time. In contrast to the 2013/14 season, the mode of determining the participants as well as the promotion playoffs was changed so that the loser of the promotion playoff finals got the chance to qualify for the Bayernliga by introducing regular playoffs against the loser of the relegation playoffs of the Bayernliga.
2013/14 From this season, the determination of the participants in the promotion playoffs to the Bayern League after the two preliminary round groups was made dependent on whether the team had not already waived the promotion. The final winner of the promotion playoffs rose directly to the Bayern League. The last two of the two groups were relegated athletically if there were not enough teams to reach the target strength in the following season.

From this season, the change from the two-point rule to the rule that

  • the winner after normal playing time 3 points and
  • after the regular playing time the winner determined in the penalty shootout receives 2 points and the loser receives one point.
2012/13 This season, two direct promoters were recently played in the Bayern League. In addition to the final for the national league championship, the "small" final for 3rd place was played.
2011/12 In contrast to the 2012/13 season, the promotion waiver had to be declared by December 31, 2011. From this season there was a separation of the participants in the promotion games to the Bayern League and the games to the national league championship in the event of a team renouncing promotion.
2010/11 In the main round in both groups, which each play a single round, the first and second in each group qualify for the play-offs. The semi-finals will be played crosswise (first south / west against second north / east and vice versa) in a two-way round. The winners of the semi-finals play the Bavarian State League champions in the first and second leg and both of them - if they have not renounced promotion - go straight to the Bayern League. The two semi-final losers play the third and fourth of the championship in the first and second leg, which may be eligible to move up to the Bayern League.

At the end of the season, two clubs per group are relegated to the district league. The sliding descent can be considered.

2008/09 with 2009/10 After the main round in the four groups (North, East, South and West) qualify
  • the first four teams in each group for the qualifying round, which in turn is played in two groups across Bavaria. The distribution between the two groups is based on a key drawn before the season. The two group winners move up - if they have not declared a promotion waiver - in the Bayern league and play the state league champions, the runners-up play a possible successor.
  • the other teams in the group for the relegation round, which was played in two groups (north / east and south / west) and the points and goals from the direct comparison of the preliminary round were taken. The last-placed teams in the respective preliminary rounds rose from this until the target strength of eight teams was reached.
2007/08 After the main round in the four groups qualified
  • the first two teams in each group for the championship round. Both the champion and the runner-up in the round were promoted directly to the Bayern League.
  • the remaining teams in each group for the non-toothed relegation round, from which the last was relegated to the district league.
2003/04 with 2006/07 After the main round in the four groups qualified
  • the first four teams in each group for the qualifying round, which was played in four groups of four teams each. The distribution of the teams was based on their placement after the preliminary round according to a key set before the season. The winners of the qualifying groups played in playoff mode from 1st place with 4th place in the state league championship, with the two finalists being promoted directly to the Bayernliga and two other teams being allowed to move up if necessary.
  • the last four teams for the non-interlocked relegation round, from which the last was relegated to the district league.
2002/03 the Bayernliga moves up to the regional league , which makes the BLL fifth class again.
2000/2001 to 2002/03 After the main round in the four groups (North, East, South, West) qualified
  • the first four teams of each group for the intermediate round, which was played in two groups (north / east and south / west).
  • the first two teams of the intermediate round groups for the Bavarian national league championship, which was played in playoff mode.
1999/2000 After the main round in the four groups (North, East, South, West) qualified
  • the first two teams for the promotion round, from which the first and second were promoted to the Bayernliga and the third placed later moved up.
1998/99 with the introduction of the Bundesliga (2nd division), the BLL will be sixth class again
