The constituency of Freiburg II (constituency 47) is a state electoral district in Baden-Württemberg . In the state elections in 2006, it comprised the districts of Betzenhausen , Brühl , Haslach , Hochdorf , Landwasser , Lehen , Mooswald , Munzingen , Opfingen , Rieselfeld , Sankt Georgen , Stühlinger , Tiengen , Unter wiehre , Vauban , Waltershofen , Weingarten and Zähringen in the Freiburg urban district .

The boundaries of the state electoral districts were fundamentally redesigned after the district reform of 1973 for the state elections in 1976 and have only been changed selectively since then. Above-average population growth in the Basel region required a change in the constituencies in this region for the 2011 state election , which also had an impact on the Freiburg II constituency. The communities of Gottenheim , March , Schallstadt and Umkirch , which had previously been part of the Breisgau constituency, were assigned to the Freiburg II constituency. This solution caused criticism, because both Freiburg state parliament constituencies are supplemented by municipalities in the surrounding area.
