List of monuments of Iran
This is a list of monuments of Iran . It follows the List of the Archaeological Sites and Historical Monuments in Nosratollah Meshkati: A List of the Historical Sites and Ancient Monuments of Iran. Translated by Mr. HAS Pessyan. 1974 (p. 293 ff.). The English spelling of the original has been retained for the names of the monuments for the sake of consistency and clarity. The spelling of the place names corresponds to the current status, since several administrative changes have been made in the administrative structure in the meantime.
For a more complete overview of the National Monuments of Iran ( Persian آثار ملی ایران, DMG Āṯār-e Mellī-e Īrān ) provides Iranshahr, Encyclopaedia of the Iranian Architectural History with over 20,000 monuments.
The following overview provides a) name, b) place and c) time (according to the English spellings in Nosratollah Meshkati). There are also further information (web links etc.).
