Marly is a French municipality with 11,855 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Nord in the region of Hauts-de-France . It is the capital of the canton of Marly (until 2015 a member municipality of the canton of Valenciennes-Est ) in the arrondissement of Valenciennes and is a member of the Communauté d'agglomération Valenciennes Métropole .

The place is only a few kilometers southwest of the Belgian border near Mons on the A2 Autoroute and Route nationale 45 .

At the end of the 19th century there was a workshop of the Cie. de Construction de Marly-lez-Valenciennes .
