Robert Chef d'Hôtel
Robert Chef d'Hôtel (born February 2, 1922 in Nouméa , New Caledonia , † October 19, 2019 in Saint-Jean-en-Royans ) was a French middle-distance runner and sprinter .
In 1946 he was sixth at the European Championships in Oslo over 800 meters in 1: 53.0 min. The next day, in the 4 x 400 meter relay, the French team with Bernard Santona , Yves Cros , Chef d'Hôtel and Jacques Lunis won the European title in 3: 14.4 minutes with a tenth of a second ahead of the British Relay.
At the Olympic Games in London in 1948 he was seventh over 800 meters in 1: 56.3 minutes. The French relay with Jean Kerebel , Francis Schewetta , Chef d'Hôtel and Lunis won silver in 3: 14.8 minutes behind the US quartet, with the French benefiting from the failure of Jamaica's relay.
Robert Chef d'Hôtel was 1.77 m tall and weighed 68 kg during his playing days.
