The 2018 UEFA Champions League Final between Real Madrid and Liverpool FC was the final of the 2017/18 Champions League season . It took place on May 26, 2018 in the Olympic Stadium in Kiev . The participants were determined in the semi-finals on April 24th and 25th (first leg) and May 1st and 2nd (second leg).

Real Madrid entered the final as the first participant on May 1st, followed by Liverpool FC as the second finalist on May 2nd. Soccer coach Zinédine Zidane's Spanish team won the game 3-1 and the UEFA Champions League for the third time in a row.

Among other things, Madrid benefited from the injury-related replacement of Liverpool striker Mohamed Salah in the 30th minute after a duel with Sergio Ramos and two mistakes by Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius , which were immediately followed by two goals (1-0 and 3-1). Shortly before conceding the first goal, Karius suffered a concussion after an elbow blow from Sergio Ramos , which resulted in a visual spatial dysfunction.
