Authume is a commune in the Jura department in the region of Bourgogne Franche-Comté . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Dole and the Canton of Authume . The municipality is bordered by Archelange to the north, Châtenois to the northeast, Rochefort-sur-Nenon to the east, Dole and Brevans to the south and Jouhe and Dole to the west .

etymology

The name goes back to the Gallo-Roman settlement period, originally altus tumulus (high hill).
