history
From 1973 to 1987, Port-Lesney and Grange-de-Vaivre were a single parish - the parish of Port-Lesney-Grange-de-Vaivre . The approximately 20 km long brine pipeline made of spruce wood ran through the municipality from Salins-les-Bains to Arc-et-Senans , which transported the less salty brine, the petites eaux , for further processing. Since this required more energy for the salt production, the processing took place near the Forêt de Chaux , which supplied the necessary fuel.
