Belmont is a French municipality with 262 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Jura in the region Bourgogne Franche-Comté . It belongs to the Arrondissement Dole , the canton of Mont-sous-Vaudrey and is a member of the Communauté de communes du Val d'Amour .

The municipality is located around 40 kilometers southwest of Besançon . Neighboring municipalities are Éclans-Nenon (point of contact) in the northeast, La Vieille-Loye and Montbarrey in the east, Vaudrey in the southeast, Bans and Mont-sous-Vaudrey in the south, Augerans in the west and Falletans in the northwest. The municipality is crossed by the Loue River.
