economy
An early mention of the name Forges de Fraisans , the name for the former local forge , dates back to 1365. The metal industry experienced a boom there in the 19th century , so that the Fraisans forge had to be expanded. This supplied components for the Pont Alexandre III and the Eiffel Tower , both in Paris .
