Abergement-lès-Thésy is a commune in the French department of Jura in the region Bourgogne Franche-Comté .
geography
Abergement-lès-Thésy is located at 680 m , southeast of Salins-les-Bains and about 19 km north of the city of Champagnole (as the crow flies). The farming village extends in the Jura , on the first Jura plateau, on a slope slightly sloping to the southeast, east of the erosion valley of the Furieuse .
The area of the 4.63 km² large municipality covers a section of the French Jura. The entire area is taken up by the plateau of the Jura plateau, which is 680 m on average and consists mainly of arable and meadow land. The plateau has no above-ground watercourses because the rainwater seeps into the karstified subsoil. At 732 m , the highest point of Abergement-lès-Thésy is reached on a knoll north of the village. The plateau descends slightly to the southeast, with the municipal area extending to the area of La Chaux .
Neighboring communities of Abergement-lès-Thésy are Cernans and Dournon in the north, Lemuy in the east and Thésy and Salins-les-Bains in the west.
history
The Abergement, first mentioned in the 12th century, was granted certain freedoms in 1266. In the Middle Ages it belonged to the rule of Aresches . Together with Franche-Comté , the village came to France with the Peace of Nijmegen in 1678.

After the population had decreased markedly in the first half of the 20th century (138 people were still counted in 1881), only relatively minor fluctuations have been recorded since the early 1960s.
Economy and Infrastructure
Abergement-lès-Thésy was a predominantly agricultural village well into the 20th century. Even today, the residents live mainly from their work in the first sector. Outside the primary sector there are few jobs in the village. Some employed people are commuters who work in the larger towns in the area.
The village is located off the main thoroughfares on a department road that leads from Pont-d'Héry to Dournon. Further road connections exist with Cernans and Lemuy.
