Petit-Noir is a French commune with 1,093 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Jura in the region Bourgogne Franche-Comté . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Dole and the Canton of Tavaux . Petit-Noir is a member of the community association Communauté de communes de la Plaine Jurassienne .
geography
The municipality is located around 20 kilometers southwest of the arrondissement capital Dole on the border with the neighboring Saône-et-Loire department . It borders on the following municipalities:
- to the north at Chemin
- in the northeast at Longwy-sur-le-Doubs
- to the east at Asnans-Beauvoisin
- in the south-east at Les Hays and Mouthier-en-Bresse (Saône-et-Loire department)
- in the south to Neublans-Abergement
- in the south-west at Fretterans (Saône-et-Loire department)
- to the northwest on Annoire
The settlement area of the municipality extends mainly on the right bank of the Doubs . The Bois Chaussemourot forest is on the opposite side of the river.
