Lavans-lès-Dole is a French commune in the Jura department ( Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region ) with an area of 10.27 km² and 324 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017).

The place lies above the Doubs at an altitude of 215 meters above sea level and borders
- in the north at Malange and Auxange ,
- to the east at Orchamps ,
- to the south on Our and Éclans-Nenon ,
- to the west on Audelange , Lavangeot and Romange .
history
Archaeological finds and burial mounds testify to a settlement in the Neolithic , in prehistoric and in Gallo-Roman times. The place was first mentioned in the 12th century when the priory of Montjeu was built on the banks of the Doubs .
Attractions
Worth seeing are the donjon , the towers and gates (13th / 14th century) of the castle, the parish church of Saint-Didier (15th / 16th century) with its gate tower and a Gothic portal and the modern castle (18th / 19th century) . Century). The former buildings of the priory are privately owned.
Economy and Infrastructure
