The European Masters 2018 was a snooker tournament of the Main Tour - season 2018/19 , which took place from October 1st to 7th in Lommel . For the second time in a row, the tournament was held in Belgium, after the venue was still in Romania when it debuted in 2016. The Englishman Judd Trump had won both previous editions .
In the final, the Englishman Jimmy Robertson prevailed 9: 6 against his compatriot Joe Perry and thus won the title of a world ranking tournament for the first time.
Prize money
There was £ 32,000 more to be won this year than last year. The losers in the first main round got £ 3,000 instead of £ 2,000, for everyone else the bonuses stayed the same.

The Rolling 147 Prize for a maximum break in the final round was £ 10,000.
Final round
The games in the final round were played in best-of-7 mode up to and including the quarter-finals (4 winning frames). In the semifinals, whoever won 6 frames first, in the finals, whoever won 9 frames first. Unlike in the previous year, but uniformly in all tournaments this season, 64 players competed in Lommel, last year there were only the last 32.

qualification
The qualifying round was in on 17 and 18 August 2018 Guildhall in the English city of Preston played. The games of the defending champion Judd Trump (1) and those of the only Belgian professional Luca Brecel (21) have been postponed and were played in Belgium at the start of the main tournament. World champion Mark Williams (64) should also play in Lommel, but he canceled his participation beforehand. All games were played in best-of-7 mode .
