The place is located southeast of Witzhelden on the L294 state road on the watershed between the Wersbach and the Sengbach immediately on the city limits of Burscheid . Other neighboring towns are Hölverscheid , Bern , Neuenhof , Altenbach and Wersbacher Mühle on Leichlinger and Heide , Kippekofen , Großbruch , Hürringhausen , Brucher Mühle and Hilgen on the Burscheider urban area.
history
For the first time the place appears on the Prussian first recording from 1844 as Kl.Heide , the neighboring Burscheider Heide as Gr.Heide .
In 1832, Heide belonged to the Witzhelden parish of the Burscheid mayor . The place, which was categorized as an arable farm according to the statistics and topography of the Düsseldorf administrative district , had a residential house and two agricultural buildings at that time. At that time, four people lived in the village, all of whom were Protestant.
Due to the municipal code for the Rhine province, the parish of Witzhelden received the status of a municipality in 1845, left the Burscheid mayor and formed its own mayor's office from 1850 onwards . In the municipality lexicon for the province of Rhineland in 1885 four houses with 27 inhabitants are given. In 1895 the place had five houses with 17 inhabitants, in 1905 four houses and 16 inhabitants.
At the end of the 1930s, the Reichsautobahn from Leverkusen to Remscheid - Lennep (later Federal Motorway 1), which opened on May 1, 1940, was built right next to the site . On January 1, 1975, the municipality of Witzhelden was incorporated with Heide in Leichlingen.
