Horní Slatina (German Upper Latin ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located nine kilometers east of Dačice in the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands and belongs to the Okres Jindřichův Hradec .
geography
The Moravian village Horní Slatina lies on the right side of the Želetavka in the side valley of a small tributary. The 665 m high Bába rises to the west.
Neighboring towns are Červený Hrádek and Bohusoudov in the north, Knínice and Budeč in the east, Borová in the southeast, Vesce and Budíškovice in the southwest and Jersice in the northwest.
history
The village was first mentioned in 1278. In the course of time Horní Slatina belonged to the lords of Budeč, Budíškovice and Dačice. Horní Slatina was the parish for Budíškovice, Jersice, Chotěbudice and Vesce.
In 1970 the place lost its independence. It was first incorporated into Budeč and later to Budíškovice. Horní Slatina has been a municipality again since 1990.
