Kostelní Radouň (German Kirchen Radaun ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located nine kilometers north of Jindřichův Hradec and belongs to the Okres Jindřichův Hradec .

geography

Kostelní Radouň is located in the south of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands in the Radouňský potok valley. The village extends for a length of three kilometers along the stream to the confluence of the Račí potok. There are 17 ponds in the hallways. To the west rises the 659 m high Čertův kámen.

Neighboring towns are Okrouhlá Radouň in the north, Karlov in the east, Lovětín in the southeast, Dolní Radouň in the south, Lodhéřov in the west and Najdek in the northwest.

history

The village Raduna magna was first mentioned in a document in 1296 as the property of the Lords of Neuhaus . In the middle of the 13th, the Knights of the Teutonic Order were commissioned by the lords of Neuhaus with the establishment of plebanates that arose in Blažejov and Kostelní Radouň. Until the Hussite Wars, the pleban of Kostelní Radouň was under the diocese of Prague . Then the church was appointed Hussite and a utraquist pastor. Since the 16th century, the Bohemian Brethren Community had become the most important denomination in the village belonging to the Kamnitz domain . The parish remained vacant until 1672 after the Battle of White Mountain . From 1672 Kostelní Radouň belonged to the Vtschelnitz estate .

In 1980 Kostelní Radouň was annexed to Horní Radouň . The community has been independent again since 1990.
