history
Záhoří was first mentioned in a document in the first half of the 14th century. The place, founded in the 13th century, originally belonged to the von Neuhaus family and when it was divided it came to the Lords of Ústí . In the 15th and 16th centuries, the owner changed several times. In 1511 Peter IV of Rosenberg acquired Záhoří and in 1528 paid a debt to the town of Soběslav with the village .
Záhoří remained in the possession of the town of Soběslav until 1672, after which the town passed to the Schwarzenbergs . 1735 Záhoří was sold together with Vřesná to Count Knefstein, who joined the villages of his rule Kardašova Řečice . After the patrimonial inheritance was replaced , Záhoří became an independent municipality in 1848.
In 1887 the railway was built. A train station was built in Záhoří, but it was named after the neighboring municipality of Doňov . In the 1950s it was incorporated into Kardašova Řečice. After the Velvet Revolution , Záhoří broke away again and became independent again.
