Nová Olešná , until 1947 Německá Olešná ; (German German Wolleschna ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located twelve kilometers northeast of Jindřichův Hradec and belongs to the Okres Jindřichův Hradec .

Nová Olešná is located in the valley of the Olešná brook in Javořická vrchovina.
Neighboring towns are Česká Olešná in the north, Bořetín in the northeast, Palupín in the east, Strmilov in the southeast, Vlčice and Malý Ratmírov in the south, Mutyněves in the southwest, Matějovec in the west and Bednárec in the northwest.
history
The village, which was built in the 12th century, was first mentioned in documents in 1379. Since the 16th century, the remote place became a retreat for the Bohemian brothers . At the end of the 19th century there were around 400 people in Deutsch Wolleschna. In 1947 the place name Německá Olešná was changed to Nová Olešná.
