history
The place belonging to the Stráž domain was first mentioned in a document as Příběraz in 1518. It was probably created at the end of the 12th century during the settlement of the area under the Přemyslids .
In 1577 the hydraulic engineer Wilhelm von Rosenbergs , Jakob Krčín von Jelčany , acquired Stráž with the associated villages and after his death the rule fell in 1592 to Wilhelm's brother Peter Wok von Rosenberg . In 1596, he sold most of the reign to Adam II von Neuhaus due to over-indebtedness . After his son Joachim Ulrich von Neuhaus died in 1604 without heirs, the inheritance fell to his sister Lucie Otilie, who had been married to Wilhelm Slavata since 1602 . After 1693, several noble families took turns as owners of Stráž and thus also of Příbraz.
After the abolition of patrimonial Příbraz became an independent municipality in 1848. At that time the village consisted of 73 houses and had 596 inhabitants. In 1863 a peat dig was recorded southeast of the village. In 1900, 743 people lived in Příbraz, which had grown to 94 houses. In the 1921 census, Příbraz including the settlements Prohánidla, Hutě and Bažantnice consisted of 105 houses with 622 inhabitants who belonged to the Czech ethnic group, 419 of whom were Catholics. The chapel of the Hussite Church was built between 1924 and 1925.
