Nová Ves nad Lužnicí (German Erdweis ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located six kilometers northwest of České Velenice and belongs to the Okres Jindřichův Hradec .

geography

The village is located on the left side of the meander course of the Lainsitz on the state road 103. Neighboring towns are Dvory nad Lužnicí and Halámky in the north, Neu-Nagelberg in the northeast, Krabonoš in the east, Breitensee in the southeast, České Velenice in the south, Vyšné in the southwest, Žofina Huť in the West and Trpnouze, Hranice and Dolejší Chalupy in the north-west. An extensive quarry pond is located northeast of the village.

history

The Weitra area was settled in the 14th century . One of the resulting localities was the village of Erdweis, which has been traceable in the Weitraer Urbar since 1499.

From 1784 Erdweis was parish after Zuggers . At the end of the 19th century a glass factory was built, which today operates under the name Skloform as . After the First World War, the Lower Austrian municipality in the Schrems district belonged to the part of the Weitra area that was assigned to Czechoslovakia in the Treaty of Saint-Germain in 1920 .

In 1930 887 people lived in Erdweis with Sophienwald and Waldhäuser, in 1939 there were 701. According to the Munich Agreement , the place was assigned to the German district of Gmünd from 1939 to 1945. After the end of the Second World War he returned to Czechoslovakia and was heavily resettled after the German residents were expelled . With the construction of the Iron Curtain, the community was in the border area. In 1981 it was incorporated into České Velenice , and since 1990 Nová Ves nad Lužnicí has ​​been an independent municipality again.

In addition to Skloform, another company is based in the village, the Lasselsberger company. To the north of Krabonoš, feldspar and gravel sands have been mined in opencast mines and processed into mortar since the 1970s.

Local division

The municipality Nová Ves nad Lužnicí consists of the districts Nová Ves nad Lužnicí ( Erdweis ) and Žofina Huť ( Sophienwald ). To Nová Ves nad Lužnicí also includes the settlements Achát ( agate ), Krabonoš ( Zuggers ) Lesní Chalupy ( Waldhäuser ) and Záblatí ( Moos homes ) and the deserted village Rybné ( Fischbach homes ). Basic settlement units are Krabonoš, Lesní Chalupy, Nová Ves nad Lužnicí, Záblatí and Žofina Huť.

The municipality is divided into the cadastral districts of Krabonoš and Nová Ves nad Lužnicí.
