Plavsko (German Altplatz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located ten kilometers southwest of Jindřichův Hradec and belongs to the Okres Jindřichův Hradec .
geography
Plavsko is located on the right side of the Nežárka in the southern foothills of the Kardašořečická pahorkatina. To the west of the village, the Nová řeka joins the Nežárka at Šimanov .
Neighboring towns are Hatín in the north, Polště in the northeast, Vydří in the east, Dvorce and Dolní Lhota in the southeast, Stráž nad Nežárkou in the south, Nový Řadov in the southwest, Šimanov, Jednoty and Novosedly nad Nežárkou in the west and Jemčina in the northwest.
history
The village was first mentioned in a document in 1379. From 1384 Old Square belonged to the rule of Hradec and later to Třeboň . In 1518 the village became part of the Stráž domain , to which it belonged until the end of patrimonial rule in 1848.
In 1920, the Brunner cheese dairy began operations, producing the Romadur and Unikat cheeses . In 1930 Plavsko consisted of 165 houses and had 760 inhabitants. In 2003 the number of houses had grown to 202, but the number of residents has almost halved to 431.
