history

In the 13th century the fortress Včelnice and a village of the same name were built on the river . Owners were the knightly family of Včelnice, whose tradition goes back to 1320, when Svatomír of Včelnice was in military service with John of Bohemia . In 1467 the property came to the Vencelík von Vrchoviště, who held it until it was sold to the Spanish nobleman Bartholomäus Paradys de la Saga. After being rescued from a flood, his wife Hippolita Countess von Lodron had a chapel built and in 1662 an exact copy of the miraculous statue of the Black Virgin Mary from Altötting was placed in it. Bernhard Franz Paradys de la Saga built 54 houses for craftsmen around the chapel, named Neuötting by his mother . a. Establish drapers. After the place had survived an outbreak of the plague, a Marian column was erected in 1701 to commemorate it. The town of Neuötting grew rapidly and in 1728 the guilds of cloth makers, joiners, tailors, shoemakers and furriers adopted their guild rules.

In 1786 Josef Hilgartner von Lilienborn acquired the rule of Vtschelnitz. He had the castle rebuilt in a rectangular shape. Hilgartner had the castle brewery that had burned down and had existed since 1601 rebuilt and founded the first textile factory. In 1786 the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary was built on the place of the chapel, which was preserved as a sacristy.

Neuötting grew together with the neighboring Vtschelnitz and the number of inhabitants increased. In 1789 a village school was established. In 1790 the survey to the market town of Neuötting-Vtschelnitz took place with the right to carry a coat of arms and a seal. The rectory was built in 1806.

In 1860 the first puke and horse blanket factory was established. In 1884 Neuötting received city rights. With the construction of the narrow-gauge railway from Neuhaus to Wobratein in 1906, the city received a railway connection.

In the 1930s the name of the town was changed to Nový Etynk-Včelnice (Neuötting-Vtelnice). In 1950 it was renamed Nová Včelnice , and the town charter was lost. Since June 1st, 1998 Nová Včelnice is a town again.

There are textile and mechanical engineering factories in Nová Včelnice, otherwise farms play a major role.
