Lišice is located on the western slope of the Lišický Kopec hill (267 m) on the East Bohemian Table. The Vyšehrad (263 m) rises to the north. There is a military area in the northeast.
Neighboring towns are Lužec nad Cidlinou and Žabí Lhotka in the north, Nepolisy in the northeast, Strašovka and Luhy in the east, Chlumec nad Cidlinou in the southeast, Převýšov in the south, Lovčice in the southwest, Slibovice in the west and Hlínov and Lišičky in the northwest.
The first written mention of Lišice comes from 1394. The Lišičky settlement was later laid out on the area of the Bořkovec pond. Lišice belonged to the Žiželice rule since the 14th century and was added to the Chlumetz rule in 1571 .
After the abolition of patrimonial both places formed from 1850 under the name Velké a Malé Lišice a political municipality in the Nový Bydžov district . Since 1897 the municipality name is Lišice. In 1907 a three-class school started teaching in Lišice. On January 1st, 1961 Lišice came to Okres Hradec Králové.
In the military area between Nepolisy , Lužec nad Cidlinou and Lišice there is a RAT 31-DL radar station of the Czech Army, which is integrated into the joint air defense system NATO Integrated Air Defense System (NATINADS).
