Molay is a French municipality with 501 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Jura in the region Bourgogne Franche-Comté . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Dole and the Canton of Tavaux . Molay is a member of the community association Communauté de communes de la Plaine Jurassienne .

geography

The municipality is located about ten kilometers southwest of the arrondissement capital Dole . Neighboring communities are Gevry in the northeast, Parcey in the east, Rahon in the south, Champdivers in the southwest and Tavaux in the northwest.

The river Doubs forms a large part of the southern municipal boundary, only further to the west the municipal area extends to the left bank of the river. The Île du Girard forms a natural meadow landscape on the river, which is registered as a nature reserve ( Réserve naturelle ).

The community is away from national transport links. Dole-Jura Airport is located in the neighboring communities to the north .
