Scheidt is a court in the town of Leichlingen (Rhineland) in the Rheinisch-Bergisches Kreis .

Location and description

Scheidt is located north of the center of Leichling in the northern slope of the Leichling plateau, which slopes down towards the Wupper. The nearby river forms the city limits to Solingen .

Neighboring places are Kradenpuhl , Nesselrath , Altenhof , Kuhle , Bertenrath , Hülstrung , Bennert , Diepenbroich , Oberschmitte and Unterberg on this side of the Wupper and Müllerhof on the other side of the Wuppers. Horn , Gosse , Rupelrath and Hütte are located in the Solingen city area . Wüst has fallen Büchel house .

The topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1824 and the Prussian first survey from 1844 both record the place as a Scheid .

In 1815/16 there were 57 people living in the village. In 1832 Scheidt belonged to the mayor's office in Leichlingen . The place, which was categorized as a court town according to the statistics and topography of the Düsseldorf administrative district , had two residential buildings and two agricultural buildings at that time. At that time, twelve people lived in the village, all of whom were Protestant.

In the municipality lexicon for the Rhineland province in 1885, two houses with six residents are given. In 1895 the place had two houses with nine inhabitants, in 1905 two houses and seven inhabitants.
