The Toyota Mark X ( Japanese ト ヨ タ ・ マ ー クXエ ッ ク ス) is an upper mid-range sedan produced between 2004 and 2019 by the Japanese car manufacturer Toyota . In China, the Mark X was sold as Toyota Reiz until 2017 . As the successor to the Mark II BLIT , a van - SUV crossover called the Toyota Mark X Zio is now being offered in parallel .

The naming is based on the name Toyota Mark II, which was used for decades and was originally used for variants of the Toyota Corona .

The Mark X is only available as a four-door sedan with rear-wheel drive (optionally all-wheel drive) and is powered by six-cylinder engines. There is a choice of 2.5- and three-liter engines in suction and initially also in turbo design; The naturally aspirated engines are V6s with direct injection, while the turbo is an in-line six-cylinder. The power transmission is carried out by six-speed automatic transmissions in the rear-wheel drive versions, while five-speed automatic transmissions are used in the all-wheel-drive versions.

The top version is the 3.0 l 3GR-FE engine (sports version with 170 kW and a top speed of 235 km / h; 3GR ). This has the same equipment as standard, but comes with a two-color interior and decoration delivered. The DVD entertainment system is optional. Both versions are also only built with a 6-speed automatic transmission.

The second generation was presented in October 2009. In 2012 and 2016, the vehicle received a visual makeover.

At the Tokyo Motor Show in January 2019, Toyota presented the Mark X GRMN ("Gazoo Racing Meister of Nürburgring ") limited to 350 copies for the Japanese market.

Production of the Mark X ended on December 23, 2019.
