history
Neolithic remains of settlements were discovered in the municipality, which gave their name to the prevailing Bischheim culture . Bischheim was formerly called Bischofsheim .
The place had given the name to a knightly family early on, from which Stephan ceded his estate to the Rothenkirchen monastery before 1181 and in 1226, together with Jakob von Bischheim, attested a document from the Hane monastery . also Gerung of Bischheim had goods to Marnheim left before the year 1202 this monastery. In 1214 King Friedrich II donated the Bischofsheim branch church belonging to the parish of Kirchheim with all its affiliations to the monastery of the Holy Sepulcher in Speyer for the salvation of souls. A chapel or a small church with at least two altars is documented for the year 1442. The church in Bischheim was still part of the Kirchheim parish in 1501; it was added to the Reformation in the 16th century. In 1698 it was communal between Catholics and Protestants .
During the Thirty Years' War the place was completely abandoned, in 1657 only eight houses were inhabited again. Until the end of the 18th century, the place belonged to the Kirchheim lordship , which was owned by the princes of Nassau-Weilburg . In 1802 there were 359 people in the community: twelve Catholics, 309 Lutherans, 30 Reformed and eight Mennonites.
After 1792 French revolutionary troops occupied the region and annexed it after the Peace of Campo Formio (1797) . From 1798 to 1814 the village belonged to the French department of Donnersberg and was assigned to the canton of Kirchheim , where it was subordinate to the Mairie Kirchheimboland . Due to the agreements reached at the Congress of Vienna (1815) and an exchange contract with Austria , the region became part of the Kingdom of Bavaria in 1816 . From 1818 the municipality of Bischheim was assigned to the Kirchheim regional commissioner in the Bavarian Rhine District, later to the Kirchheimbolanden district office, from which the Kirchheimbolanden district emerged in 1939 . After the Second World War , Bischheim was part of the French occupation zone until 1949 and 1955 and was incorporated into the newly formed state of Rhineland-Palatinate in 1946. In the course of the first Rhineland-Palatinate administrative reform in 1969, Bischheim moved to the newly formed Donnersbergkreis ; three years later, the community was incorporated into the also newly created community of Kirchheimbolanden .

Herrenmühle zu Bischheim (former cultural monument 2009)
Stately Wilhelminian style house around 1870, two-storey saddle roof building with plastered quarry stone masonry, half-timbered wide dormer window (around 1900). The historic property includes farm buildings and several outbuildings, the Herrngarten with a "man-high" quarry stone wall and a courtyard. The manor mill, owned by the Counts of Nassau-Weilburg, is mentioned as early as 1657. The mill was operated as an oil, gypsum mill and hemp grater. In 1870 an automatic steam mill was installed. As a large company, the manor mill gained economic importance in the 19th century. Both the farm buildings and the courtyard are partially basement. Rumor has it that there is also an old tunnel that leads to the neighboring Kirchheimbolanden. Possible entrances to such a tunnel can still be found today, but most of the corridors are buried or walled up after a few meters.
The property now covers around 7000 square meters, is owned by and is also inhabited by several owners. Individual building complexes are unused and there is a considerable maintenance backlog; parts of the building are partially in danger of collapsing. These were built back in 2009 and 2010.
