The 2017 IBSF World Snooker Championship was the 42nd edition of the World Amateur Snooker Championship . It took place from November 18-27, 2017 at the Al-Arabi Sports Club in the Qatari capital Doha .

World champion became the Indian Pankaj Advani , who won the final against the Iranian Amir Sarkhosh . He also scored the highest break of the tournament with 138 points in the group game against the Brazilian Victor Sarkis .

After disputes between the professional association WPBSA and the amateur association IBSF , the winner of the IBSF World Snooker Championship is no longer qualified for the Snooker Main Tour . Therefore, as the reigning IBSF world champion, Pankaj Advani is not eligible to play in the 2018/19 Main Tour season .

mode

The 88 participants were divided into 16 groups in which they competed against each other in round robin mode . 64 players qualified for the final round, which was played in the knockout system from November 23rd to 27th .
