The 1458 conclave was the electoral assembly of the cardinals after the death of Pope Calixt III. and lasted from August 14, 1458 to August 19, 1458. His choice fell on Enea Silvio de 'Piccolomini, who called himself Pope Pius II .

The college of cardinals had 26 members at the beginning of the conclave . Cardinal Domenico Capranica had died during the Sedis vacancy but before the conclave. Eight cardinals were not in Rome at the time of the conclave, so that the conclave only had 18 participants.

The cardinals of the conclave were created by three popes. Seven came from the pontificate of Pope Eugene IV , four from the pontificate of Pope Nicholas V and seven from the pontificate of Pope Calixt III.

The two-thirds majority required for the election in this conclave was twelve votes. The French Cardinal Guillaume d'Estouteville , who was considered the favorite, tried to achieve this without success in the first few days. In the course of the second ballot of August 19, 1458, mainly supported by the Italian cardinals, Enea Silvio de 'Piccolomini was elected Pope Pius II.
