The conclave of April 1555 was the electoral assembly of the cardinals after the death of Pope Julius III. and lasted from April 5, 1555 to April 9, 1555, so only five days. His choice fell on Marcello Cervini degli Spannocchi, who called himself Pope Marcellus II .
