Lübeck Air is a German virtual airline based at Lübeck-Blankensee Airport . It shares the IATA code 6I with Air Alsie . All Lübeck Air aircraft are operated by the Danish airline Air Alsie, as Lübeck Air does not have its own Air Operator Certificate (AOC).
history
Lübeck Air was founded in 2016 by the Lübeck entrepreneur Winfried Stöcker . In the same year, the airline used its first aircraft, a Dassault Falcon 7X , for charter and business flights .
In May 2019, the airline announced that it would buy an ATR 72-500 and begin regular service. Stockholm, London and Frankfurt were named as possible destinations. In January 2020, Lübeck Air announced that it would fly from Lübeck to Munich and Stuttgart from June 2020.
On May 1, 2020, one month before the start of regular flight operations, the first flight from Lübeck to Munich was canceled. The reason for this was the outbreak of the corona virus in Germany. The first flight was postponed to August 17, 2020.
On July 21, 2020, the company's ATR 72 landed at Lübeck Airport for the first time. After a short celebration, a sightseeing flight was carried out for the airport staff over the Bay of Lübeck .
The first flight from Lübeck to Munich took place on August 17, 2020.
