Labastide-d'Anjou ( Occitan : La Bastida d'Anjau ) is a municipality with 1,326 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the west of the Aude department in the southern French region of Occitania (before 2016: Languedoc-Roussillon ). The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement of Carcassonne and the canton of Le Bassin Chaurien (until 2015: canton of Castelnaudary-Sud ). The inhabitants are called Labastidiens .

location

Labastide-d'Anjou is located about 39 kilometers west-northwest of Carcassonne on the Fresquel . The Canal du Midi flows in the southwest . Labastide-d'Anjou is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Montferrand in the north and west, Airoux in the north-east, Ricaud in the east, Mas-Saintes-Puelles in the south and south-east and Baraigne in the south-west.

The A61 autoroute runs through the southwest .

The bastide was founded in 1373 by Duke Ludwig I of Anjou .
