Nance County is a county in the state of Nebraska in the United States . The county seat is Fullerton , named after Randall Fuller , an early settler in the area.

The county is located in east-central Nebraska and has an area of ​​1160 square kilometers, of which 17 square kilometers are water. It is bordered in a clockwise direction by the following counties: Platte County , Merrick County , Greeley County, and Boone County .

Nance County was formed in 1879. It was named after the governor Albinus Nance .

As of the 2000 census , Nance County had 4,038 people in 1,577 households and 1,107 families. The population density was 4 people per square kilometer. The racial the population was composed of 98.39 percent white, 0.37 percent Native American, 0.05 percent Asian and 0.45 percent from other ethnic groups; 0.74 percent were descended from two or more races. 1.14 percent of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
