Nemaha County is a county in the state of Nebraska in the United States . The county seat is Auburn , which was named after the city of the same name, Auburn in New York .

The county is located in southeastern Nebraska, borders Missouri to the east and has an area of ​​1067 square kilometers, of which 7 square kilometers are water. In Nebraska, it is bordered clockwise by the following counties: Otoe County , Richardson County , Pawnee County, and Johnson Counties .

history

Nemaha County was formed in 1855. It was named after the Nemaha River .

According to the 2000 census , Nemaha County had a population of 7,576. 494 of them lived in collective accommodation, the other residents lived in 3,047 households and 1,980 families. The population density was 7 people per square kilometer.
