Furnas County is a county in the state of Nebraska in the United States . The county seat is Beaver City , named for its location in the Beaver River Valley .

According to the 2000 census , Furnas County had 5,324 people. 134 of them lived in collective accommodation, the other residents lived in 2,278 households and 1,489 families.
