Sarpy County is a county in the state of Nebraska in the United States . The county seat is Papillion , which was named after Papillion Creek .

The county is located in the far east of Nebraska, borders the state of Iowa and has an area of ​​640 square kilometers, of which 18 square kilometers are water. It is bordered clockwise by the following counties: Douglas County , Cass County, and Saunders Counties .

Sarpy County was formed in 1857. It was named after Colonel Peter A. Sarpy .

As of the 2000 census , Sarpy County had 122,595 people in 43,426 households and 33,220 families. The population density was 197 inhabitants per square kilometer. The racial the population was composed of 89.18 percent white, 4.36 percent African American, 0.42 percent Native American, 1.90 percent Asian, 0.09 percent of residents from the Pacific island area and 1.86 percent from other ethnic groups Groups; 2.20 percent were descended from two or more races.
