Red Willow County is a county in the state of Nebraska in the United States . The county seat is McCook . The city was home to three Nebraska governors: Earl Benjamin Nelson , Ralph Brooks, and Frank Morrison .

The county is located in southern Nebraska, borders the state of Kansas, and has an area of ​​1,860 square kilometers, of which 4 square kilometers are water. In Nebraska, it is bordered clockwise by the following counties: Furnas County , Hitchcock County, and Frontier County .

history

Red Willow County was formed in 1873. It was named after the Red Willow Creek .

According to the 2000 census , Red Willow County's population was 11,448. Of these, 262 people lived in collective accommodation, the other residents lived in 4,710 households and 3,188 families.
