Scotts Bluff County is a county in the state of Nebraska in the United States . The county seat is Gering , named after Martin Gering , a banker.

The county is located in the far west of Nebraska, borders Wyoming and has an area of ​​1931 square kilometers, of which 16 square kilometers are water. In Nebraska, it is bordered clockwise by the following counties: Sioux County , Box Butte County , Morrill County, and Banner Counties .

Scotts Bluff County's population was 36,951 as of the 2000 census . Of these, 652 people lived in collective accommodation, the other residents lived in 14,887 households and 10,167 families. The population density was 19 inhabitants per square kilometer. The racial the population was composed of 87.58 percent white, 0.27 percent African American, 1.88 percent Native American, 0.57 percent Asian, 0.04 percent of residents from the Pacific island area and 8.02 percent from other ethnic groups Groups; 1.63 percent were descended from two or more races.
