D. Boone

Boone County was formed in 1871 from territory that was designated as free - but actually inhabited by Indians . It was named after Daniel Boone (1734-1820), a well-known pioneer and hunter from Kentucky .

According to the 2000 census , Boone County's population was 6,259. Of these, 112 people lived in collective accommodation, the other residents lived in 2,454 households and 1,700 families.
