Grant County is a county in the state of Nebraska in the United States . The county seat is Hyannis .

The county is located in west-central Nebraska, about 120 km to the southwest from Colorado , about 110 km to the north from South Dakota , and has an area of ​​2029 square kilometers, of which 18 square kilometers are water. It is bordered clockwise by the following counties: Cherry County , Hooker County , Arthur County , Garden County, and Sheridan Counties .

Grant County was formed in 1884. It was named after General Ulysses S. Grant .

As of the 2000 census , there were 747 people in Grant County. None of them lived in collective accommodation, the residents lived in 292 households and 226 families. The population density was 0.3 inhabitants per square kilometer. The racial the population was composed of 98.8 percent white, 0.1 percent Native American, 0.3 percent Asian and 0.8 percent from other ethnic groups. 1.3 percent of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
