Hooker County is a county in the state of Nebraska in the United States . The county seat is Mullen .

The county is located northwest of the geographic center of Nebraska and covers an area of ​​1,869 square kilometers, of which 1 square kilometer is water. It is bordered clockwise by the following counties: Cherry County , Thomas County , McPherson County , Arthur County, and Grant County .

history

Hooker County was formed in 1889. It was named after General Joseph Hooker .

Hooker County's population was 783 as of the 2000 census . Of these, 26 people lived in collective accommodation, the other residents lived in 335 households and 220 families. The population density was 0.4 inhabitants per square kilometer.
