Orsans ( identical in Occitan ) is a municipality with 104 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the west of the Aude department in the southern French region of Occitania (before 2016: Languedoc-Roussillon ). The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement of Carcassonne and the canton of La Piège au Razès (until 2015: canton Fanjeaux ). The inhabitants are called Orsanais .

Orsans is located about 35 kilometers west-southwest of Carcassonne on the Vixiège . Orsans is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Cazalrenoux in the north and northwest, La Cassaigne in the north, Fanjeaux in the northeast, Fenouillet-du-Razès in the east, Hounoux in the south and southeast, Saint-Gaudéric in the south and southwest and Saint-Julien-de-Briola in the West.
