Starke County is a county in the state of Indiana and has a population of 23,556. According to legend, the name Starke comes from the freedom fighter John Stark , who was very active there in the 17th century. Starke County is a more rural county and the most urban one is the airport.

Two of the county's structures are on the National Register of Historic Places (as of September 4, 2017).
