The Warren County is a county in the US -amerikanischen State Indiana . In 2010 the county had 8,508 people and a population density of 9 people per square kilometer. The county seat is Williamsport .
geography
The county is located in western Indiana on the right bank of the Wabash River at the mouth of Big Pine Creek . It borders Illinois and has an area of 949 square kilometers, of which four square kilometers are water.
In the center of Williamsport is the Williamsport Falls, the waterfall with the greatest height difference in all of Indiana.

history
Warren County was formed on January 19, 1827 from former parts of Fountain County. It was named after Joseph Warren (1741-1775), a commander in the American Revolutionary War , who was killed in 1775 at the Battle of Bunker Hill .
