history

Good Schönböken

Gatehouse of the Schönböken estate

Schönböken was founded around 1800 as a Meierhof from Gut Perdoel and raised to the status of a noble estate in 1806 . During this time, Schönböken, together with the villages of Ruhwinkel and Belau, was separated from the Perdoel estate. In 1936 the Wehrmacht acquired the estate. She set up a remonteam here and from 1941 converted it into a research and experimental stud. After the end of the war until 1951, the farm estates of the Schönböken estate were converted into land for settlement farms.

The manor house was built in 1805 and received its present form during the renovation and extension in 1870. After the end of the war, the mansion was first used by the German Agricultural Machinery School ( DEULA ) and later as a disaster control school. Today it is used by the Zen Association Germany as a venue. In addition to the gatehouse and the manor park, the manor house is registered as a cultural monument in the list of monuments of Schleswig-Holstein.

The Lindenallee Schönböken leads from the federal highway B430 in a length of over one kilometer and a stock of almost 250 linden trees directly to the gatehouse. The avenue was planted in 1856 and in 2010 was awarded the “Schöne Allee 2010” award by the Schleswig-Holsteinisches Heimatbund .

Good Bockhorn

Bockhorn was a wooded area owned by the Perdoel estate until the 17th century. This is probably where the origin of the name Bockhorn lies; Bock is derived from beech, -horn means angle / corner. A glassworks was operated in Bockhorn from the middle of the 17th century to the beginning of the 18th century . A huge demand for firewood was necessary for the operation of the glassworks. For this purpose, most of the trees on Bockhorn were cleared. The land that was freed in this way was converted into agricultural land. Between 1716 and 1726 Bockhorn was laid out as a Meierhof and in 1798 it was sold from Gut Perdoel. In 1806, Bockhorn was raised to the status of a noble estate alongside Schönböken. In the years 1957 to 1958 the majority of the farm lands were sold to build settlement farms. The rest of the yard is now privately owned.

The mansion, built in 1805, was demolished in 2007.

The district of Schönböken alternates with Jagel and the Süderauer Kohlscheune as the venue for the annual Schleswig-Holstein stock exchange , a state exchange of the German club of ballpoint pen collectors .
