Ternant is a French municipality with 379 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the Charente-Maritime in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016: Poitou-Charentes ); it belongs to the arrondissement of Saint-Jean-d'Angély and is part of the canton of Saint-Jean-d'Angély . The inhabitants are called Ternantais .
geography
Ternant is located about 60 kilometers east-southeast of La Rochelle in the Saintonge . Ternant is surrounded by the neighboring communities of La Vergne in the north, Saint-Jean-d'Angély in the east, Mazeray in the south and Voissay in the west.
The A10 autoroute runs through the municipality .
