In the volleyball Women's World Cup 2014 24 teams competed. A squad with 14 players was nominated for each team.

As a finalist of the 2013 European Championship, the DVV selection qualified directly for the World Cup. So far, German women have not yet been able to win any World Cup medals. After the GDR occupied fourth place in 1974 and 1986, the reunified Germany came fifth in 1994. The German team finished seventh at the 2010 World Cup.
